“You’ll never fully appreciate the very best things in life if you haven’t experienced the very worst.”
I truly believe that, because of the hardships I have endured in life, I have a greater appreciation for the “simple things” that bring me joy.
It’s all about perspective.
Years ago, I knew I wanted to be on TV. I knew I wanted to be a dad. I knew I wanted to record, produce and play live music. I knew I wanted to make a difference in the world.
It wasn’t until I reached a point where I thought I might never be able to do any of those thing ever again that I gained a true appreciation for everything I had done and achieved in my life. Nothing makes you work harder for something than thinking you can’t do it. Then, when you do, it’ll be all the more worthwhile.
My life to this point has given me new purpose. New drive. New meaning — and I’m just getting started.
